About E-Learning

General Information :
UM E-Learning is a web-based learning management system with learning contents management capabilities .

The system can be accessed via the following URL Addresses :

For UM Staff	:	http://elearning.um.edu.my Use UMMail Username and Password
For UM Students	:	http://elearning.perdana.um.edu.my Use Perdana Mail Username and Password

Extra Features that users will find in UM E-Learning

(a)UM E-Learning application is integrated with UMMail and Perdana Mail :

To access UM E-Learning, UM Staffs and Students do not have to create a new account.
UM staffs and students can use their UMMail / Perdana Mail username and password to log in to the UM E-Learning.

(b)UM E-Learning application is integrated with UM's Integrated Student Information System (ISIS).This allows :

Lecturers to create the courses they teach in an easier way.
Lecturers to get updated list of registered students for each created course.
Lecturers to automatically generate the course information provided in the Student Information System.
Students to automatically subscribed to the created course when they confirmed the course registration in Student Information System

UM E-Learning Application Modules consist of the following:

Module	Description
Announcement	• Send announcement related to the course content
Notes	• Prepare notes in E-Book format • Notes in various forms such as notes with text, images, sounds, videos etc. can be displayed completely
Document	• Documents such as lecture notes, slide presentations, images, artworks or any other documents may be uploaded & managed effectively by lecturers • The documents can be downloaded/saved by the students
Forum	• Discussion on any issues related to the available courses (portfolios) is smooth and effective by using this module
Learning Tracks	• Enables tracking of learning materials such as notes, quizzes & the like within the system. • Materials which are included in this process will be monitored accordingly & the reports can be easily obtained by the lecturers.
Links	• Display all available Internet links in relation to the course. • Students may directly click to the specified links in order to access directly to the web site
Reference	• Display information of the writer, publisher & price on reference items for the respective course such as books, CD, and so on.
News	• Managing news & articles easily and effectively
Assignment	• Prepare information on assignment for students
Assessment	• Online Quizzes/Exams & Online Survey : Type of Questions:
		i. ii. iii. iv. v. vi. vii.	Fill in the Blank Matching Multiple Answers Multiple Choice Ordering Short Answer/Essay True/False
